Privacy Policy

Last updated: 12 August 2026

This policy explains what happens to data when you use this site. The short version: there are no accounts, no logins, and nothing you type here is sent to me.

1. Data stored on your own device

The site saves a few things in your browser's localStorage, which lives on your computer and is never transmitted anywhere:

You can erase all of it at any time by clearing site data in your browser settings. Nothing is lost that I hold a copy of, because I do not hold a copy.

2. No account, no personal data collected by me

This site has no registration, no newsletter, no comment section and no contact form. I do not ask for your name, email address, wallet address or any other personal detail. If you email me voluntarily, I hold that email in order to reply to it — nothing more, and I do not add you to any list.

3. Third parties that receive your IP address

Some features require your browser to contact other companies. When it does, those companies necessarily see your IP address and basic technical details, and their own privacy policies apply:

Note that no information about what you calculated is sent to any of these parties. A price request asks "what is Bitcoin worth right now" and nothing else.

4. Advertising and cookies

This site may display advertising through Google AdSense. Where it does:

5. Analytics

This site uses Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits and see which pages are useful.

It was chosen deliberately because of how little it collects:

Because it is cookieless and builds no profile, this analytics does not require a consent banner under the GDPR. Note that this is separate from advertising: if and when AdSense is enabled, that does require consent, as described in section 4.

6. Children

This site is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect any data from them.

7. Your rights

If you are in the EU, EEA or UK, the GDPR gives you the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to the processing of your personal data, and to lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority. Because this site holds no personal data about you beyond any email you choose to send, most of these rights have very little to act upon — but requests are always welcome at info@satmeter.io.

Dutch visitors can contact the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.

8. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes materially, the "last updated" date at the top of this page changes with it. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the revised policy.

9. Contact

The person responsible for this site and for any data described above is Johan Demmers, based in the Netherlands. Privacy questions can go to info@satmeter.io.

Plain-English summary: your item list stays in your browser, I never see it, I have no account system, and the only companies involved are the price APIs, the image and font CDNs, the host, and — once enabled — Google's advertising.
