1. What this site provides

This site is a free educational tool that converts everyday prices into Bitcoin and satoshis, and back. It is provided for information and entertainment. No account, payment or registration is required, and no service beyond the display of these calculations is offered.

3. Accuracy of prices and data

Bitcoin prices are retrieved from third-party public sources and are indicative only. They may be delayed, cached, rounded, or briefly wrong. They will not match the exact price you receive from any exchange, which applies its own spread and fees.

Default grocery prices are rough international averages included as a starting point. They are not a survey and will not match your local shop. That is precisely why every price on the page is editable — the accurate version is the one you type in yourself.

The currency conversion between dollars and euros is derived from the Bitcoin quotes rather than from a foreign-exchange rate, so it is an approximation and is not suitable for any purpose requiring an accurate FX rate.

4. Availability

The site is provided "as is" and "as available", with no guarantee of uptime, of continued availability of any feature, or that it will be free of errors. Third-party price sources may fail or change without notice. The site may be modified or discontinued at any time.

5. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, no liability is accepted for any loss or damage — including financial loss, lost profits, or lost data — arising from your use of, or inability to use, this site or from reliance on any figure it displays. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

6. Intellectual property

The design, layout, text, translations and source code of this site are © Satmeter and are protected by copyright. You may not copy, republish, redistribute, sell, or create derivative works from them without prior written permission.

You are welcome to:

• Link to any page on this site.
• Quote a short passage with attribution and a link.
• Share screenshots or the figures the tool generates, including via the built-in copy button.

Rights held by others are not affected by the above: Bitcoin price data belongs to the respective providers, photographs remain the property of their photographers and are used under the Unsplash licence, and all trademarks named on the site belong to their owners. Mention of a company or product does not imply any affiliation or endorsement in either direction.

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Scrape, mirror or systematically copy the site, or place automated load on it.
• Attempt to interfere with its operation or security.
• Re-present the site or its output as your own product or service.
• Use the site for anything unlawful in your jurisdiction.

8. Third-party links and advertising

This site may link to external websites and may display third-party advertising. Those sites and adverts are not under my control, and no responsibility is taken for their content, accuracy, products or privacy practices. An advert appearing here is not an endorsement. Be particularly careful with any advertisement promoting a financial product or investment opportunity.

9. Affiliate disclosure

Some outbound links on this site may be affiliate links, meaning a commission may be earned if you buy something after clicking one, at no extra cost to you. Where this applies it will be disclosed on the page in question. A commission never changes the substance of a recommendation.

10. Changes to these terms

These terms may be updated; the "last updated" date will change accordingly. Continued use after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Netherlands. Any dispute arising from them falls to the competent Dutch courts. Satmeter is operated as a personal project by Johan Demmers, an individual based in the Netherlands, and is not a registered company.

If you are a consumer resident in the European Union, nothing in these terms removes the statutory consumer rights you hold under the law of your own country.
